Secure area Freistadt & Urfahr sourroundings

The S10 is one of the most important road projects in Upper Austria. It serves the infrastructural development of the Muehlviertel and is for the districts Freistadt and Urfahr sourroundings very important. The heart of the highway is the 4,4 kilometer tunnel Goetschka. Due to the slope of the terrain it is expanded to three lanes. In March 2013 DÜRR Austria was awarded with the contract and after a construction time of about three years the S10 was opened for traffic.

For better project execution the entire trace of 22 km was devided in four construction stages and six construction lots. The bypass Freistadt with 2 tunnels and 1 UFT was opened for traffic in November 2014, the tunnel Goetschka and Neumarkt and 3 more UFT in the area of Kefermarkt in December 2015.
